For the second game in a row, a Texas Tech pitcher had an outstanding performance.
Steven Gingery pitched seven shutout innings, only giving up three hits and one walk on the day.
That is a recipe for a big time win, and that’s what the Red Raider got.
They beat Kansas by a final score of 9-2, and they did exactly what they needed to do to win this game.
The key coming into this series for Tech was to make Kansas go to their bullpen early, and that’s exactly what they did today.
Texas Tech made Kansas go to the pen, in the top of the third inning after putting up 6-runs on Kansas’s Jackson Goddard.
That will be the same key for the Red Raiders tomorrow, as they go for the sweep of the Jayhawks.
Game time for tomorrows match-up has been moved to 10 a.m., due to the threat of weather and the game will be televised on ESPN3.
