Coronado wins 6A Girls Doubles State Title

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Coronado's Reagan Collins and Jessika Young captured the 6A Girls Doubles State Championship as they beat Courtney Fenech/Tiffany Hollebeck of Plano West 6-4, 6-4 on Tuesday morning.

The Coronado Duo won their opening contest at State, topping a team from San Antonio Johnson 6-0, 6-0. Then, in the Semifinals they knocked off a team from Dallas Highland Park 6-1, 6-3.

Congrats to Reagan Collins and Jessica Young and their Coach David Denham for bringing home the Gold.

    After a 9-6 loss Thursday night to Florida that eliminated them from the College World Series, the Texas Tech baseball team flew back to Lubbock Friday afternoon and bussed back to Rip Griffin Park, where fans were waiting to say thank you for another terrific season.
