Lubbock Christian School announced the hiring of their new athletic director, Chris Softley.
Softley is beginning his first year as the athletic director and head football coach at Lubbock Christian High School.
Softley has eight years of experience coaching at the high school level and two years at the collegiate level. He also played four years of college football at Nebraska Wesleyan. He has coached at Rockwall Heath High School, Mt. Vernon High School, and most recently at Sunnyvale High School.
He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a Master’s degree in Higher Education and a graduate from Nebraska Wesleyan with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance with minor degrees in Psychology and Athletic Coaching.
Softley believes athletics needs to be redeemed back to being a tool that is used to bring Glory to God and conform players and coaches more into the likeness of Jesus Christ. He is passionate about the opportunity for Lubbock Christian to be a central hub for other Christian schools to see how to “Do Sports God's Way.”
“We were extremely impressed with Coach Softley and his wife Autumn from the beginning. He will bring not only a high level of coaching experience and expertise, but spiritual leadership as well. He is passionate about using athletics as a tool to build habits of excellence in young student athletes as well as to strengthen their walk with Jesus Christ. He is a total program coach and believes in the success of all athletic and academic programs. I have a great deal of confidence in Coach Softley and am looking forward to working with him to bring Lubbock Christian athletics to a new level of excellence.” states incoming LCS President, Tye Rogers.
