Coach Ken Carter Visits Texas Tech

Texas Tech played host to Coach Ken Carter Wednesday night for a motivation speech.

A recent movie depicted the story of how the high school basketball coach locked his undefeated basketball team out of the gym. You see, he forced his team to hit the books, instead of relying on athletic success to escape a tough, inner city life. It's a powerful message he says everyone can learn from.

"Not everyone can become famous, but everyone can become great. Because greatness is defined by the service that we give to others," said Coach Carter.

Several hundred people attended Wednesday night's event in the Allen Theatre at Texas Tech.
