LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

Each week in our segment Food for Thought we dish out the good and bad when it comes to the cleanliness of local eateries, but did you know health inspectors check out a lot more than just restaurants - including some stops you might not think about.

Health inspectors also check out things like swimming pools, activity centers and mobile units.

But did you know they also keep your family safe by inspecting farmer's markets; it's something we see pop up around this time of the year.

Health inspectors stopped by the West End Farmer's Market this past weekend, and the two stands they checked out were outstanding.
Both landed at the top of the list:

  • Dutch Farmstead Cheese
  • Juicy Lucy's Veggies

The West End is located at 2910 W. Loop 289.

If you missed their farmer's market last weekend - don't worry, they have another one coming up this Saturday.

It starts at 10 a.m. and ends when they run when they run out of food - which is about 1 p.m.
