LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Former Texas Tech Football Strength & Conditioning Coach Bennie Wylie and his partner Jill May won the NBC-TV Reality Show "Strong" Thursday night, taking the championship and $300,000 Grand prize.

Wylie had a watch party in Lubbock a few weeks ago. He loves Lubbock, having molded Red Raider Football players from 2003-2010.

He was one of ten trainers on the show. Each week, Team Blue (Bennie & Jill) competed to stay out to the elimination chamber. They went in three times, winning in week 1, week 5 and in the finals week 10. They won in the finals by 13 seconds.

Under Wylie's guidance, his partner Jill May from Wilmar, Minnesota went from a size 10 to a size 2. She transformed from 31 percent body fat to 12 percent and gained 24 pounds of lean muscle.

Wylie held a watch party in Abilene Thursday night. After winning, he said, "I have no words. I'm so happy I get to be part of this and I get to bring this home. I'm so honored to be the first ever winners of Strong from the great State of Texas. We go big or we go home, so we went big. "

Bennie was asked if he told his wife Jen and their three children that he had won the Strong title during the 10 weeks Strong aired on NBC.

He said, "I didn't tell them.  We weren't supposed too. They spent the whole time not knowing."

Congrats to Bennie Wylie who is Super Strong and how has $150,000 to prove it!
