Teenager Dies In Police Chase

A police chase came to a fatal end in Snyder.

A Snyder police officer tried to pull over the driver of an Oldsmobile Alero for a routine traffic stop. The driver sped away and ran into a tree, five blocks later.

The passenger, 19-year-old James Jennings Jr. was killed. The driver, 23-year-old Mustapha Burks was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock where he remains in serious condition.

Both men are from Abilene.
