Progress on West Texas' Field of Dreams

Ever since West Texas Professional Baseball announced their ballpark plans for Wolfforth back on October 12th, they've slowly been moving forward. In fact they're close to securing a deal to have the Texas Tech Red Raiders as tenants.

Tech Athletic Director Gerald Myers tells NewsChannel 11 a finalized agreement is upcoming and they're getting the proper papers signed. The area where the field will stand has already been cleared and staked out and we are told an official groundbreaking could take place in the next few weeks.

Besides the Red Raiders, negotiations are also ongoing to secure a minor league team and we know of hundreds of scenarios that West Texas Baseball is diligently working on: involving different independent and affiliated Double A and Triple A teams.

So, little by little progress on West Texas' field of dreams is being made.
