Broken Sprinkler Floods TTU Dorm, Authorities Suspect Criminal Mischief

Fire investigators suspect criminal mischief may have forced Texas Tech students out of their dorms overnight.

Dozens of students were evacuated around 9:30 Thursday night when a sprinkler head broke, flooding three floors of Murdough Residence Hall. At one point, the water was up to three inches deep.

"Water started pouring out in the hallway and it flooded, going down two floor levels and I have guitars and this is all going to be ruined," said Tech student, Nathan Glenn.

Students were able to return to their rooms around two o'clock Friday morning.
