The newest fast food restaurant to jump on the low fat bandwagon is Fazoli's.
Starting this month, it says more than 50 menu items will have zero grams of trans fat, which is one of the bad fats, formed when liquid oils are made into solid fats. Trans fat, like saturated fat, raises the LDL or bad cholesterol in the body.
Of course, Fazoli's had an advantage in that the majority of its menu items are not fried, but Fazoli's says it still wasn't easy adjusting the menu this way. Even the breadsticks now have zero grams of trans fat.
By the way, Fazoli's is also providing a nutrition guide for its menu items, but you have to ask for it.
