The Lubbock ISD Athletic Hall of Honor will induct its Hall of Honor Class of 2016 during the annual banquet on Saturday, June 18th at 6:30 p.m. Ten Lubbock ISD athletic greats will be recognized in the sixth class, including seven LISD athletes, one coach and two championship teams.

The 2016 Hall of Honor class is a mix of players and coaches from various sports. The induction will include former Lubbock High School football players Jimmy Gafford, James Sides, Dick Lowrey and Jimmy Welch, as well as former Monterey High School football player Dan Irons, former Monterey baseball player Jimmy Shankle, and former Estacado High School football player Kenneth Wallace. Coach Jimmie Keeling of Estacado will also be honored, along with the 1960 Dunbar High School Basketball Team and the 1975 State Champion Boys’ Doubles Tennis Team.

The event will be at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall, 1501 Mac Davis Lane.
