June is National Dairy Month, so with every glass of milk or slice of cheese or spoonful of ice cream, you've been celebrating!
According to the Texas Association of Dairymen, an average Texas dairy farm has 909 cows, which produces 16.1 million pounds of milk per year. The Texas High Plains is home to many of those dairies, most of which are located northwest of Lubbock.
The hard-working men and women who operate those dairies work around the clock, every day, no matter the weather. Milk that's produced in this region goes all over the state and the nation, and a strong dairy industry means more jobs.
