LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Lubbock's Stan Scott will be heading to the US Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene Oregon this weekend. He's been selected to official the pole vault event and he's super excited.

"I'm really looking forward to it. You'd like to think every meet is exactly the same, but it's different. The intensity of the athletes is at such a high level."

This is Scott's 2nd Olympic Trials as he was also selected in 2008.  He's seen some local athletes competing for spots on the U.S. Team.

"Trey Culver from Coronado and Bradley Adkins from Idalou. Since Wes has come in with tech, he has really upgraded the program and has athletes complete nationally and internationally."

Stan says it's such a thrill as this comes along just every 4 years.
