Fight Over Woman Sends Man to Jail

A Lubbock man is behind bars, following a shooting in east Lubbock Wednesday night.

It happened at the Windcrest-Estacado apartments on north MLK boulevard, just before 11 p.m. Police say the shooting was the direct result of two men arguing over one woman. The victim fled the scene, and called for help from the 1800 block of east First place.

Police arrested 30-year-old Aubrey Gene Johnson Junior at the Windcrest Estacado apartments. He is now charged with aggravated assault. The victim, 24-year-old Lonnie Griggs, was treated and released from University Medical Center.
