EUGENE, Ore. – Texas Tech track & field qualified three more Red Raiders to the next round of U.S. Trials competition on a rain-soaked Friday, July 8, at Hayward Field.

Only one bar was needed to sort through the field in the qualifying round men's high jump, and both Trey Culver & Bradley Adkins cleared it to continue. With the rain picking up, Culver flew over the bar set at 2.14m/7-0.25 on his second attempt. Adkins made things a little more interesting, going over successfully on his third jump, ensuring both would advance to the final.

Fourteen competitors remain in the field, as the high jump final will be contested on Sunday, July 10, at 5 p.m. CDT.

Omo Osaghae made it through the first round of the men's 110-meter hurdles, clocking in with a time of 13.78 seconds in the second heat of the competition. His time was fourth in the section and 18th overall to grab the final qualifying spot.

Osaghae will compete in the semifinals at 6:25 p.m. CDT on Saturday, July 9, with the final slated for later in the night at 7:52.

After tossing the fifth-best mark in the qualifying round on Thursday, Jason Young only had one throw count for a mark in Friday's discus final. His first attempt of the day traveled a distance of 56.82m/186-5, earning him 11th in the standings.

Also competing on Friday was Candace Jackson in the 200-meter dash. Running in heat four, Jackson posted a time of 24.30 seconds to place seventh in the heat and 40th overall.

Hannah Carson (javelin) will join Osaghae as the two Red Raiders in action on Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. from Eugene, Oregon.
