LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - On the final day of the USA Olympic Trials, Texas Tech gets their second athlete to the Rio Olympics.
Former Idalou Wildcat and now Texas Tech Red Raider, Bradley Adkins is going to Rio for the High Jump.
He was able to leap over 7-1 and 7-3, but couldn't make it over the 7-5 mark in his 3-attempts.
Bradley Adkins would finish in 3rd place in the high jump, in an 8-man field at the Trials.
His teammate and former Coronado Mustang, Trey Culver would finish tied for 8th at the Olympic Trials.
The reason why Adkins is able to go to Rio, is that he had previously made the Olympic standard.
