Lubbock Drug Raid Sends 9 To Jail

A pre-dawn drug raid, in South Lubbock, sent nine people to jail Thursday morning.

The DPS helicopter assisted a number of agencies involved in Thursday's operation. It happened in the vicinity of the 1300 Block of 65th Drive. They included the ATF, DE,  Lubbock Police, Sheriff's Department, and EMS stood by as a precautionary measure. Children's Protective Services was on hand to take custody of at least five children who would have been left unattended following the raid.

Lubbock Police Lieutenant Roy Bassett tells NewsChannel 11 the operation was the direct result of a steady stream of complaints by citizens wanting to clean up their neighborhood.
