MORTON, TX (KCBD) -

The Morton Indians return 5 offensive and 8 defensive starters and Coach Jimmy Randolph says this team is ready to go.

"Our kids are excited about the upcoming year. There's nothing new. We have been here long enough. Our program is pretty much set so they know what's expected of them."

Morton faces Hale Center, Sundown, Lubbock Christian, Ralls and Forsan in Non-District.

In District 3 of 2A Division 2, Morton will battle to be in the playoff hunt.

"You have to win the right ones at the right time and have a little luck. We want to be good enough to have a chance to be lucky and hopefully that will happen for us. They want to do something that hasn't been done here in a while and I think they have a good chance to do that."
