It's now headquartered in Lubbock, but City Bank actually got its start in Morton. It started back in 1941 as the First State Bank of Morton.
Then, In 1962 a group purchased the bank from its original founders. From there, the group expanded the bank's reach.
And now, City Bank has locations in 18 towns in both Texas and New Mexico, but all that money started growing right here in Morton.
"A lot of our history goes back to the way we learned to do banking in the small town of Morton," said City Bank Chairman of the Board Curtis Griffith. "Take care of our customers and take care of our employees, we've tried to live by those rules ever since."
