Updates are in store for the Boys and Girls Club Park in Lamesa.
The lake there was built back in 1970.
Now, it's stocked every year with fish for folks to catch. But, the shores have started to erode a little bit.
So, thanks to grants, crews have come up with some plans to build a retaining wall, fishing pier, and more.
But, organizers say all that would not be possible without great community support.
"We cannot do something like this if there were not a lot of generous people in Lamesa with not only funds, but with time. This is all volunteer work. These types of projects, the Boys and Girls Club here also, they never get done without volunteers, and we've got some great volunteers here in Lamesa," said Lamesa Parks and Recreation Committee Chairman Scott Leonard.
Crews hope to begin phase one of this project in the fall or next spring.
