The Motley County Matadors are coming off another fantastic season, finishing with an overall record of 10-3.
"They are the most excited they have been in a long time, they are a young bunch. But, they will pin their ears back and get after it and have some fun," says Head Coach Mike Bigham.
Motley County doesn't shy away from competition, and they will see it immediately in non-district.
"We go down to Jayton and play Hermleigh right off of the bat, and that was a game we weren't able to finish because of the rain. So the kids are excited, and after that we will hit up Spur. Then we will play some new teams after that, we will play Miami, and we have never played them since I've been there," says Mike Bigham
Hopefully, that tough non-district will get them ready for district play. So they can make the push towards one of the two playoff spots.
"We always fight for that, that's a big deal for Matador. It's not going to be surprising if we do it, that's what's tough if you win a lot. But, its something you expect every year and its something the town expects every year. The kids expect to win ball games, and when that's there the expectations are high every year and that's the way we want it,' says Bigham.
