Lubbock Cooper has hired Wayne Riley as their new Boys Basketball Coach.

Riley comes in from Andrews, but prior to that he won over 300 games at Abernathy. He's excited to lead the Pirates.

"Lubbock Cooper ISD has a lot of positive things going on out here. We feel like it's a great opportunity and we're thankful for the opportunity.>

Riley knows their Class 5A District will be packed with talent as it includes, Lubbock, Monterey and Coronado.

"The district is loaded with great coaches in Lubbock and San Angelo. It's a very competitive district. I'm excited about that."
