LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

If you drive past the Jones AT&T stadium, you'll notice some construction going on - especially on the north side.

Soon, fans will have a new place to watch the game.

"Our north end, it's going to be the newest premium area we have to offer," Amy Heard, associate athletics director for TTU athletics, says.

She tells us the additional seats will be more affordable than box seats.

"It'll be a new place with some different amenities to access on game days," she says. "It'll be our closest premium area seating to the field, so it'll be a really exciting addition for our fan base."

She says, currently, these seats are only available for purchase for season ticket holders.

"They'll have access to an indoor lounge area, premium concessions, cash bar, it comes with some really great parking," Heard explains. "So, all of those benefits that people are looking for, for their game day experience, we knew it would be something popular."

But, you don't have to sit in the newly built areas to enjoy the premium concessions.

"The red seats that are located on each side of the jumbo Tron will also have access," she says.

And, even before they're done, this new area is almost sold out.

"We're really excited, we're down to our last five, believe it or not," she says.

But, when you go to the Jones, you'll notice something else that's changing.

Where grass and a concrete double-T once stood, will soon be the home of turf and a brand new double-T.

"This will keep it green all year around and be a great focal point for our fans," she explains.

Though, tickets are on sale, right now, for season ticket holders and those in the Red Raider Club.

Individual tickets go on sale Monday.
