Lamesa declares 'Guadalupe Chavez Day' for resident's 104th birthday

LAMESA, TX (KCBD) -

Lamesa city officials have proclaimed July 26 as "Guadalupe Chavez Day" in honor of her 104th birthday.

During Tuesday's city council meeting, Chavez was honored and was presented the proclamation.

According to the Lamesa Press Reporter, Chavez was born in 1912 in Oakville. She moved to Lamesa in 1951 where she raised five children. She now lives in the Sage Healthcare facility in Lamesa.

She has 37 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren, 164 great-great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-great grandchildren and four great-great-great-great grandchildren.

So you don't have to get out the calculator, that is 316 grandchildren.
