Man sentenced to 25 years for possessing 164 pounds of marijuana

LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -

A Lubbock man found guilty of drug possession after being found with 10 duffel bags containing marijuana has been sentenced to 25 years in TDCJ.

Joshua Jackson, 31, was arrested in April of 2015 after police received a tip that he would be bringing a large amount of marijuana into Lubbock County.

After following and pulling Jackson over, officers found 10 duffel bags in the car, all containing the drug. Officers found 164 pounds, worth about $858,000.

Jackson was arrested and then charged with possession of marijuana between 50 and 2,000 pounds. He was facing five to 99 years in jail.
