This week's Pay It Forward segment started out along West 82nd Street. We set up with our Pay It Forward sign seeking this week's playmaker.
Jenni Marsh spotted our Pay It Forward sign right away. Jenni had seen Pay It Forward before.
We asked Jenni who she would pick if she had $300 to give?
Jenni told us, "Nathan and Cohee Mastin."
We asked Jenni why she chose this family.
Jenni replied, "Nathan was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the beginning of the summer."
Nathan thought he had a sinus infection, but doctors diagnosed him with a brain tumor and sent him to Houston for treatment.
Jenni told us that Nathan had just returned home recently to spend time with his children before school starts up again.
We attempted to locate Nathan and Cohee in person, but they were unable to be located.
Since we could not locate them personally, Jenni knew that their kids went to school at Trinity Christian School here in Lubbock.
Jenni decided to donate the $300 to go towards tuition costs for the Mastin children.
We made the trip to Trinity Christian School where we met Tammy Barber in the Central Office.
Jenni told Tammy what had happened.
Jenni told Tammy, "So I want to Pay It Forward and give $300 that Cary just gave me...to them."
Tammy accepted the money on behalf of the Mastin family and their children.
Tammy told us, "Very much appreciated. God is good."
Be looking for our Pay It Forward sign soon. You may become our next playmaker.
