Lubbock Prepares For Firefighter Funeral Service

A funeral procession for a fallen firefighter will begin in Amarillo and end in Lubbock. The procession is in honor of Amarillo Firefighter Brian Hunton.

Hunton is originally from Lubbock. He suffered fatal head injuries Saturday when he was thrown from a fire truck en route to a house fire. Hundreds of fire fighters and 50 fire trucks will participate in the procession from Rix Funeral Home to First Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m.

Following the service, the procession will travel to Resthaven Cemetery. Drivers are asked to show their respect and expect traffic delays.
