LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The 8th annual Bridge Bash is Saturday, August 13. Before the non-profit can give away free clothing for families preparing to head back to school, they are in need of donations.

Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the community is asked to bring donations to the facility located at 1301 Redbud Avenue. Whitney Owen, director of The Bridge, says any household items are accepted but there is a big need for children's clothes. She also says this is her favorite event of the year, "because there's so much excitement associated with summertime and this brings people from all walks of life together."

Anyone who would like to sign up to volunteer at the event, which is co-hosted with Experience Life Church, can call The Bridge at 687-0772.

The Bridge is a non-profit organization with the goal of restoring hope by empowering at-risk teens and their families.
