Boys & Girls Club members receive shoes, free school supplies

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lubbock gave away a backpack with school supplies in it and a brand new pair of Under Armour shoes to wear back to school to 100 of their members.

The event was held Friday morning at the Optimist Boys & Girls Club located at 3301 Cornell.

They brought in 50 children from the Ted Phea Boys & Girls Club as well as 50 young people from the Optimist BGC to receive the Back to School supplies.

Raising Cane's provided lunch for all the children and Wentz Orthodontics brought by their Bahama Bucks trailer for all the kids.

All four Boys & Girls Clubs will re-open for the school year on Monday, Aug. 22 at 3 p.m. Membership cost for the school year is $10. All clubs will close at 7 p.m. except for Shallowater which closes at 6 p.m.
