LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Several Lubbock locals worked with the Good Earth Recycling organization to help clean up Mae Simmons Park this weekend.

Some 30 volunteers from the Lubbock Wind Riders Disc Golf club and the Texas Tech Society of Conservative Biology worked for over three hours to collect 42 50-gallon bags of waste in the park.

Good Earth Recycling says the change at the park from just this small effort was dramatic.

Good Earth Recycling is hoping that more volunteers will come out for future events and help bring positive change to Lubbock parks and our community.

The new organization is planning to clean up multiple parks each year.
