The guys wearing scarlet and black hit the grid iron running on Monday, starting up their second week of Texas Tech football fall camp.
Last year the Red Raiders had a spectacular year on special teams, led by former Red Raider Jakeem Grant.
Grant lit up the stat boards last season, averaging 26 yards per return, and took two of them all the way to the house for touchdowns.
That kind of production will be hard to follow, but new Special Teams Coordinator Joe Robinson says there is a line of guys waiting to fill Grant's shoes:
"I think we are pretty blessed back there, you know Cam Batson has had a lot of time back there. So does Justin Stockton, and there is more. You know we got a number of names back there, and we want them to all think right now that they are number one," Joe Robinson said. "We want them to compete and try to win that job, I think for us the talent at the return position is there. We will figure out who will start there in the next few weeks."
