LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Just after 1:30 p.m. emergency officials were called to the United Supermarkets Arena for a man who was in the rafters and unable to get down.

The United Supermarkets Arena is in the process of replacing its video board with a new, bigger one after 17 years. Crews were working on the new video board when the emergency call was sent out.

Texas Tech officials say a contracted worker was in the rafters working on the wiring for the new video board when he began to feel ill and didn't feel comfortable climbing down.

About an hour after the call to emergency officials, the man was brought out of the USA on a stretcher to be evaluated.

There is no word on any injuries at this time.
