The Slaton Tigers, coming off a playoff season, roar into 2016 with anticipation as new head coach Stacy Martin takes over.
"It's exciting when you start something new. At the same time you have to get familiar with the kids and they have to get familiar with the coaches. So we are a little behind coming out of the spring, but our kids have come in and worked hard," says Slaton head coach Stacy Martin.
But there are no breathers in their tough district, and the Tigers know they have to bring it every Friday night.
"We think it is one of the toughest districts, and we know it will be a battle very week. Our kids will go out and compete, and that's what we want them to do. We got them believing right now. Everyone is 0-0 right now, and it's time to get after it," Martin says.
