LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

A 'Mutation Response Vehicle' was spotted in Lubbock on Thursday night, causing a stir on social media.

A Google search reveals that the vehicles are part of an art exhibit headed to the Burning Man Event that will be held about 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada from Aug. 28 through Sept. 5.

A fleet of the MRV vehicles were spotted in Florida on Monday, Aug. 15. Residents thought the vehicles might be related to recent Zika cases, but a couple days later, Snopes, a website that investigates internet hoaxes, jumped in and explained truth:

The MRVs were created for the Burning Man festival by a group called the Pathogen Trackers and "have nothing to do with any potential disease outbreaks or public health agencies."
