McDougal Properties President Michael McDougal showed us around the place. It has 277 units with 97 of them already leased. It's decked out with high quality materials and designs that give this unique place a metro feel to it. "We said this was going to be the premiere neighborhood in Lubbock. We designed this to be the center piece for the entire area," said McDougal.
But down below all the living space is what makes this place unique. It has 21,000 square feet of business space with 60% of it leased.
Always Tan owner Rick Austin is opening up another Always Tan location with 16 top of the line beds. He says it's exciting to be in an area that has not been serviced by a lot of business before.
"Lindsey's Salon and Day Spa is coming here. We understand Kinko's, Starbucks, possibly The Cheesecake Factory, possibly PF Changs. There is just a lot of exciting opportunities that will give Lubbock a 'Dallas' atmosphere for a change," said Austin.
Along side of The Centre at Overton, construction crews are working on Glenna Goodacre. Developers believe 4,000 people will walk on that street every day.
