The Frenship Tigers roar into 2016 as the only Class 6A team in our viewing area. Coach Brad Davis and his team are up for the challenge.
"The thing about being the only 6A School around here, your district games, you're going to have to travel a good ways. We're going to be traveling to Midland/Odessa, San Angelo, Amarillo to play district games and that's fine. That's the only 7 teams up here in 6A in this part of the State so they had to make us 1 district. The next closest is Amarillo or the Fort Worth/Dallas area. That's the way it is. That's the way West Texas is so we'll accept it and move on."
Frenship is pumped to play in what Coach Davis calls the equivalent of the Big 12.
"We have 67 kids on the varsity right now. That's a good number in 6A and we'll need all of them. It takes all of them to get us ready to play."
Frenship didn't get any scrimmages before the start of the season so they get going tonight at 7 hosting El Paso Montwood.
