You could call Lubbock a trend setter or maybe just ahead of its time but now, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores is following Lubbock's lead by calling for a federal law forcing all retailers to move products that contain pseudo-ephedrine behind the counter.
In March, Lubbock took that crime-fighting initiative on its own by passing an ordinance requiring stores to move those cold medicines behind the counter to make it hard for meth makers to get the ingredients they need. Pseudoephedrine, which is used to manufacture meth, is also a major ingredient in cold medicine.
