LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Thousands of people will flock the Jones AT&T stadium on Saturday.

With a big turn out expected for the season opener of Tech's 2016 season, parking may be chaotic.

Texas Tech announces free public parking located northwest of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at the intersection of Texas Tech Parkway and 5th Street.

Football fans must remember that tailgating is not allowed in this location. Citibus provides optional round-trip shuttle service to the stadium, but it is cash only!
The routes begin three hours before kick off, so 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 onto kickoff for $5 per person.

Fans will be dropped off and picked up at the southwest corner of the stadium, near Gate 1. These shuttles stop dropping off fans at the stadium 30 minutes after kickoff.

And remember, fans who have reserved parking passes are asked to check the back of each pass and follow the parking directions.
