The City of Lubbock Community Engagement Task Force will host its first community forum on Thursday, September 1. The forum will take place at the Lubbock High School Cafeteria, 2004 19th Street, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The forum, entitled "Let's Talk", will provide members of the community with the opportunity to share their comments and concerns about police and community relations. Attendees are respectfully asked to limit comments to two minutes. A second opportunity to make comments will be available, but only after everyone who wants to talk has had the chance to do so.

Additional forums will be scheduled at a later date. The information gathered during these forums will guide efforts to support and enhance community involvement within the City of Lubbock.

The Community Engagement Task Force is comprised of elected officials, law enforcement, pastors, educators, business and other community leaders. This group will make recommendations to encourage collaboration between citizens, city government, and law enforcement.
