The widow of a man who died after an officer-involved shooting in Levelland on January 23, 2015 around 7 a.m. is now suing the city of Levelland.

Levelland police say Jose Antonio Espinoza was shot at a home on 15th Street and Avenue A after two officers responded to a "domestic dispute" call from his wife.

At the time of the shooting, police officials said there were communication issues, as she was speaking in Spanish. The only words they picked up were "husband" and "help."

The attorney for the woman, Espinoza's wife, have released dash cam video from one of the officers who responded to the incident. In the video, you can hear Espinoza's wife screaming in Spanish after you hear at least five gunshots.

The coroner's report says Espinoza was taken to a Levelland hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The coroner says the cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds.

We are gathering details of the lawsuit and will have more information on KCBD NewsChannel 11 at 6.
