LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

One person has been arrested in connection to a house fire in the 2500 block of 30th Street.

Firefighters responded to a report of a fire just before 1 p.m. Monday.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the home.

Crews were able to get the fire under control and complete their searches of the home in about 20 minutes.

The home had heavy smoke damage and minor fire damage.

The Lubbock Fire Marshal's Office arrested 40 year old John David Wishert, Monday evening. 

Wishert is now behind bars at the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with arson of a habitation.

Authorities tell us evidence at the scene indicated Wishert intentionally set fire inside of the residence.
