New Vaccine Protects Teenagers From Whooping Cough

A new vaccine could help better protect teenagers from whooping cough. That's important because although whooping cough isn't as dangerous to older kids, but it's that group that is likely to spread the illness to small children and for them, it can be deadly.

Whooping cough is a respiratory tract infection and now, the FDA has approved the first combination vaccine that gives teens a booster for whooping cough along with the tetanus and diphtheria vaccine. Because what appears to be a nagging cough in teens and adults, can turn out to be a fatal illness in babies.
