Two hospitalized in crash on Hwy. 84 in Shallowater

SHALLOWATER, TX (KCBD) -

A man and a woman were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 84 near FM 1294.

Officials on the scene say the driver of a black pickup ran a stop sign and collided with a van traveling on Highway 84.

The driver of the pickup was not injured, but the male driver of the van and his female passenger were taken to the hospital.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. 

Officials with DPS, Shallowater Fire, EMS and the Lubbock Sheriff's Office all responded to the scene.

The identities of those involved have not been released at this time.

We're also hearing emergency crews received several calls from people nearby who are worried the fire could spread to their homes. There is heavy damage to the outside of the building.
