Gas prices are below the $2.00 mark in Lubbock for the first time in five weeks.
Gas is selling for $1.98 a gallon at two Lubbock stations. The Fina at 98th and University and the Boltons on 40th and Avenue Q. Many stations are selling for just a penny more a gallon. The average is still around $2.03, but, don't get too excited just yet. This week, state lawmakers gave tentative approval to a gas tax that would generate up to one billion dollars in the next two years.
