Chessa Bouche is excited to be a part of the KCBD Sports team! She comes way of College Station where she worked at KBTX Media as a sports reporter/anchor. She learned the Aggie way, but her ties to the SEC run deep.
Chessa knew from an early age that she wanted to be a sports reporter and now she's living her dream. She started her career in Hattiesburg, Mississippi covering everything Southern Mississippi sports.
However she wasn't new to the state. Chessa attended Ole Miss for undergrad, where she worked for the University's Media and Public Relations department as a reporter covering everything from the Presidential Debate to live concerts. She also worked for Ole Miss baseball as a Diamond Girl and helped with game day operations.
Chessa is proud to be from Bossier City, Louisiana, but loves the Lone Star state! Chessa has a Master's Degree in Mass Communication from LSU. During her time in Baton Rouge she interned for WAFB, which turned into her freelancing for Channel 9. She covered everything LSU sports from football, baseball, softball... even gymnastics. She also worked with ESPNU and LouisianaFB.com. Despite her love for the SEC, she is extremely excited to cover the Big 12!
Chessa came very close to playing basketball for Marsha Sharp at Texas Tech, so instead she moved to Lubbock to fulfill her West Texas dream. Even though she's small in stature she's got a heart of a tiger. Chessa played semi-professional basketball in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2007.
When Chessa's not working she enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball, watching sports, spending time with her dog Slugger, live music, and Mexican food. Her family means the world to her! She's excited to call Lubbock home and can't wait to tell your story.
