Noon Notebook 9/15: Tickets available for Hub City BBQ Cook-off

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Thousands of people will head to downtown Lubbock next week to enjoy some of the best barbeque the South Plains has to offer.

More than 100 cooking teams will be competing for bragging rights in the 16th Annual Hub City BBQ Cook-off.

It runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22nd.

It is taking place on Broadway Avenue in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo Building and Avenue O and down Broadway, between Avenue Q and Avenue B.

Advance tickets, which are on sale from August 1st through September 20th, are $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 10, and tickets are free for children five and under. 

Gate prices are $30 for adults, but the prices for children will not change. 

This year's entertainment will be provided by Texas Country music artist, Zane Williams, while the opening will be provided by the School of Rock, with local musicians playing throughout the evening.
