Lubbock Zoo Loses Construction Site At Mackenzie Park

A set back for the Lubbock Zoo. The zoo will not be building in its desired spot at Mackenzie Park.

Months of archeological testing has deemed the site as an archeological sensitive area. Texas Tech researchers uncovered a bison burial ground and other items of historical significance. Kai Hill, Vice President of the Lubbock Zoo says they are now looking at other locations.

Currently they're scoping out areas near the Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport, near Buffalo Springs Lake and in Wolfforth.
