Hale Center ISD to host meetings for tax ratification election

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Hale Center is hosting informational meetings on their Tax Ratification Election.

The first meeting will be held on Monday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at Carr Middle School Library.

Here is a list of the other scheduled meetings:

  • Tuesday, September 20, 2016 – 11:45 am at Lion's Club, Owl Cafe
  • Tuesday, September 20, 2016 – 7:00 pm at Computer Orientation Meeting, HS Library
  • Wednesday, September 21, 2016 – 12:00 pm at Senior Citizen's, Senior Citizen Center
  • Monday, October 3, 2016 – 7:00 pm at Athletic Booster Club, HS Commons

Hale Center Independent School District adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for Maintenance and Operations than last year's tax rate.

The tax rate will effectively be raised by 12.5 percent and will raise taxes for Maintenance and Operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $130

Tax Ratification Election to be held October 11.
