DPS releases name of bicycle rider killed in Hale County wreck

PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) -

A bicycle rider has been killed in a Thursday morning wreck.

73-year-old Jose Santos Amador of Plainview was riding east on FM 1767 around 8 a.m., near the 34th and Wood intersection, when he was struck by a driver in a GMC SUV.

The driver said he did not see the bicycle because of the position of the sun.

Amador was pronounced dead at the scene.
