LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

According to officials with the Lubbock Police Department, 34-year-old Nathan Carroll Masten was arrested and charged with DWI after a crash involving a Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputy.

Police say the deputy was eastbound on 19th Street near Avenue Q when Masten, who was driving westbound, failed to yield the right of way when he was turning south.

The deputy and Masten collided.

Both suffered minor injuries. Masten refused treatment and was arrested and charged with a DWI. The deputy was taken to the hospital.

Masten is being held in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. He was booked into the jail just after 4 a.m. Friday.
